We welcome applications from experienced mentors, induction tutors, and CPD leads who:
• Have knowledge and understanding of the Early Career Framework and how this supports Early Career Teacher development.
• Are competent using Microsoft Teams/Zoom (or another online platform) for seminars and ideally have experience of delivering training online
• Have the support their Headteacher to undertake this role.
Opportunities are available to facilitate a cluster of early career teachers, or a cluster of mentors of early career teachers, or both. Delivery will be via face-to-face and online learning. Materials will be provided for each session, together with training from University College London and East Manchester Teaching School Hub.
ECT facilitators – Total Commitment: 11 days over 2 years, as follows:
Year 1:
2 x half-day training sessions, one with University College London, one with East Manchester Teaching School Hub
1 x 3 hour facilitated online session
6 x 2 hours facilitation, one at the start of each half term
6 x 1 hour facilitated online discussion
Including preparation time (materials provided by UCL), this is an annual commitment of 7.5 days
Year 2:
2 x half-day training sessions, one with University College London, one with East Manchester Teaching School Hub
1 x 3 hour facilitated online session
4 x 2 hours facilitation
Including preparation time, this is an annual commitment of 3.5 days
Mentor facilitators – Total Commitment 4 days over 2 years, as follows:
Year 1 & 2:
1 day per year training, including a half day with UCL and half with East Manchester Teaching School Hub
1 x 3 hour facilitated online session
3 x 1 hour online facilitated discussion
Including preparation time (materials provided by UCL), this is an annual commitment of 2 days
All facilitators will need to be available for the half day training event w/b 12th July (date and time TBC) and be able to attend the UCL ECF Facilitator Development session on 8th September (15:30 to 17:00).
Facilitators will be supported with guidance and training throughout the year by the Teaching School Hub Early Career Framework Delivery Lead.
Facilitators need to be ready to start the role from September 2021
The East Manchester Teaching School Hub will pay the schools of trained facilitators at a rate of £350 per day, termly, in arrears. Notice period by either party is one term.
