Module Six Resources

All self-study materials for both ECTs and Mentors can be found in UCL eXtend, access is sent by UCL direct to the email address provided by the induction tutor to the DfE. If you’re having any issues accessing the platform or need any other help/ advice with regards to the platform, programme or content, please have a look at our new Help Centre. Here you’ll find answers to our FAQs alongside a contact us option, should you not be able to find the answer you need.

There is also a file section where you can access the module six materials, should access to UCL eXtend be delayed.

Areas of understanding for year 2

Mentors and ECTs should understand:

  1. In general terms, what we mean by practitioner inquiry

Mentors and ECTs were given pre-conference tasks of:

  1. Exploring the Year 2 materials – paying particular attention to Module 6
  2. Viewing the introductory video, explaining the approach to practitioner inquiry
  3. Reviewing the development needs of the ECT, using the audit for Module 6

Post conference tasks

Following the conference, ECTs and Mentors are asked to:

  1. Write their first exploratory inquiry question together
  2. Read the Year 2 Practitioner Inquiry Handbook
  3. View the ‘how-to’ videos, which sit along the Year 2 Handbook (both the handbook & video can be found in the overview section of modules 6-9 in UCL eXtend)
