All of our NPQ qualifications are fully funded for any staff in state-funded schools and state funded organisations that offer 16-19 places in England.
Applicants should discuss with their line manager before applying, recognising that the programmes require a significant commitment from both schools and participants.
This means that government will fully cover all course fees. For more information please see the DfE website.
Please be aware that there is a three stage process to apply for the new NPQs.
Register with DfE.
Submit applications to UCL.
To stand the best possible chance of being accepted for your choice of programme please apply early.
Please register first on the DfE NPQ Registration Service platform. Once registered, a short UCL application form will be sent to all applicants who should return it within 5 days of receipt. Complete the DfE registration portal selecting UCL as your chosen provider.
NPQ Executive Leadership
The NPQEL is for school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, an executive headteacher or have a school trust CEO role with responsibility for leading several schools.

NPQ Leading Teacher Development
The NPQLTD is for teachers who have or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers in their school. It enables you to gain the knowledge to become a teacher educator and successfully support teachers in your school to expand their skills and is therefore suitable for teachers mentoring trainee teachers and Early Career Teachers, or those leading on whole school professional development.
